A Minecraft player has designed a chilling base inspired by Pokémon's Unown and the ruins they typically inhabit. While many impressive builds have been showcased by Minecraft fans over the years, this particular Pokémon-themed creation stands out as one of the more unsettling.
Since Minecraft's release, players have been crafting their own unique bases in both Survival and Creative modes. Survival mode challenges players to gather all necessary resources, while Creative mode offers a sandbox environment filled with materials for building their dream base. Over time, fans have shared remarkable builds, including a Rocket League arena, a giant crab, and a tower from Dark Souls 3. One player, however, has chosen to dedicate their base to the strange, alphabetic Pokémon species known as Unown.
Reddit user Sushi-btw recently posted nine images of their Minecraft Unown base, showcasing it from various angles. The build primarily features red, black, and gray colors, utilizing different types of stone to create the darker areas surrounding a central structure. This central building is adorned with eyeball designs at each entrance and on the roof, giving the impression of being watched from all sides. With its Unown theme, the location seems inspired by areas such as the Ruins of Alph or the Unown dimension from the third Pokémon movie. The Unown letters on the wall spell out "sushi," a nod to the Reddit user's name, while Mew's sprite appears inside a bubble, complete with its Pokédex number, 151.

Despite the eerie appearance of the exterior, the Reddit user notes that the interior is much cozier, featuring red Mushroom blocks, Spruce Logs, and Dark Oak Planks. According to the player, their Unown base spans 21x21 chunks, with each chunk consisting of 16x16 blocks. To efficiently construct this impressive build, the gamer utilized WorldEdit, a mod that simplifies the process of creating large structures.
As Minecraft continues to thrive with a massive player base, this may not be the last unsettling creation to emerge from the community. With Mojang consistently updating Minecraft with creepy elements like the Creaking, players are likely to produce even more spine-chilling builds in the future.
